Here is a pattern we see constantly: the approval is not the slow part. The slow part is the week that passes while someone hunts for a bank statement.
Decisions typically come back within 24 hours of a complete application, and funding typically follows within 2–5 business days. The variable in that sentence is the word “complete.” Here is what complete looks like.
Business basics
- Legal entity name, exactly as registered
- EIN
- MC / DOT number, if you run under authority
- Owner contact details
This is five minutes of work if you have it, and a week of back-and-forth if you do not. Write it down once and keep it with your insurance documents.
Bank statements
Usually the most recent three months of business bank statements. Lenders read them for rhythm: does money come in regularly, do balances survive the slow weeks, are there existing daily-payment obligations. Download the PDFs from your bank portal — screenshots slow everything down.
Equipment paperwork — when an asset is involved
- Invoice or bill of sale
- VIN or serial number
- Inspection or condition report, where the deal calls for it
- For private-party purchases: title status and any lien payoff details
What you should not be asked for
At the option-checking stage, nobody needs your SSN or your bank login. A hard credit pull only enters the picture later, if you choose a specific lender and authorize it. If a form demands those on day one, ask why before you type.
Have the folder ready? See how the process runs end to end, or start your application — three steps, and the first one takes about a minute.
